Actor Jeremy Jordan has sadly announced the death of his nephew Kaleb, aged 14, Tuesday, 2 June 2020. The star of the series Smash, and Supergirl has shared on Twitter a page for crowdfunding with the goal to cover the costs of the funeral of the teenager.
“Please, take a moment despite the chaos and pray for my family,” wrote the actor nominated for a Tony Award, referring to the many demonstrations following the death of George Floyd during a police control. “A few days ago, my nephew of 14-year-old given the death. We are devastated. Teenage suicide is a serious matter and we cannot forget it. RIP Bubba”, he said.
On the page GoFundMe, we learn that Kaleb passed away on Monday morning. “I try to make a good figure then I need to take care of my 16 year-old son and my 5 year old daughter (…) Now, I would like to give him the funeral he deserves. I know that our family alone can not cover these expenses. I hate having to ask for help,” wrote the mother of the teen, Kasey Thomas. More than 12 000 dollars have already been collected on the 25 000 to start.
This is not the first time that the family of Jeremy Jordan’s in the news. Already in 2016, he had chosen to publicise the case of her cousin Sarah, placed a force in a camp fundamentalist christian by his parents because of his homosexuality. She had been released after several months of suffering.
